HIGH ABILITY CHILDREN:
Seeking Balance At Home and At School

The 9th Annual NHAGE Parents' and Educators' Forum was held Monday, May 13, at Hillsboro-Deering Elementary School in  Hillsboro, NH. A number of parents, teachers and administrators joined NHAGE for a time of Q and A and  discussion regarding the joys and challenges of raising  and teaching high ability children.

This was the last NHAGE event for the 2012/13 school year. Thank you to all who have been part of our efforts this year. The meeting schedule for next school year will be posted as soon as it is available. Enjoy your summer!

New spring NAGC  WOWs (Webinars on Wednesdays) for educators and parents.
There are two WOW Mini Series for spring:
Planting and Growing Differentiation in the Classroom, and
Bullying: What Every Educator and Parent Needs to Know.
More information on the new WOW series is available on the NAGC website.



SENG (Supporting Emotional Needs of the Gifted) offers  webinars for parents and professionals who work with gifted children, as well as an online newsletter, the SENGVine. See their website for more information.


STATE of NH
INFORMATION on GIFTED EDUCATION


The State of New Hampshire does not require, nor does it provide for, the identification of gifted students. It does, however, require that a "free and appropriate" education be provided for all students. The regulations related to gifted education in the state of NH are available from:

EVENTS TO LOOK FORWARD TO IN THE FALL

The first New England Conference for Talent Development and Gifted Education will take place in Portland, Maine on October 24 and 25, 2013.  The conference is titled Creating Strong Roots: Nurturing the Growth and Development of the Whole Child, and will feature speakers Thomas Hebert, Mary Landrum Slade, and Joseph      Renzulli.
