8th Annual Parent and Teacher Forum

High Ability Children:  Seeking Balance at Home and at School
This interactive forum will provide ideas, encouragement, and support for raising and teaching a high ability children.
When:  May 24, 2012       6:30-8:30pm
Where:  Barrington Middle School, 51 Haley Dr., Barrington, NH (use 20 Haley Dr. for GPS)
Registration:  $10 per person, $15 per parental couple. Barrington residents free.

Panel will include:

  • Ms. Maurine Egan, Consultant for Gifted and Creative Children

  • Teresa Morris, President of NHAGE and Gifted & Talented Coordinator in Jaffrey-Rindge Schools

Do you know of an exceptional educator of the gifted? It is time for nominations for the EDies, the NH Excellence in Education teacher of the gifted award. We are also looking for nominations of students (grades 3-6) for the Nicholas Green award.

Journey to Belonging:
Listening to the Voices of the Gifted

The Vermont Council for Gifted Education hosted the 17th annual New England Conference on Gifted and Talented Education (NECGT) in Burlington, VT, on October 13-15, 2011. Keynote speakers were noted author James Delisle, and Colleen Harsin, Director of the Davidson Academy of Nevada.





National Convention

NAGC (National Association for Gifted Children) held its 58th Annual Convention at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside, in New Orleans,  from November 3rd through the 6th.

There was a tremendous amount of information presented in sessions in 15 strands (such as Curriculum, Computers and Technology, and Creativity), as well as  mini-keynotes and signature sessions, poster sessions and exhibitor workshops.

Wonderful general sessions were presented by Bill Nye (Change the World!) and noted artist George Rodrigue. More information from the conference will be available here, and at our monthly meetings.
