| President, Director,
Michele Munsen |
Michele Munson, a
lifelong educator with 39+ years of experience, has worked as a
classroom teacher, gifted and talented coordinator, NH Dept. of
Education consultant and Bureau administrator, curriculum
specialist, assistant superintendent and superintendent of
schools. Named Gifted Educator of the Year in 2005, she has
been a devoted advocate for children and creativity, developing
programs such as the Connecticut Invention Convention and
Innovations Across Generations with General Electric Corp. She
also chaired the National Young Inventors and Creators Program
sponsored by the US Patent and Trademark Office, US Copyright
Office, and Office of the Book for five years.
Michele has authored numerous articles and collaborated in
many publications on inventing with children. As an active board
member of the National Inventive Thinking Association (NITA) for
over ten years, she assisted in the development of training
programs and conferences to advance inventive thinking and
pre-engineering skill development. Michele has presented
regionally, nationally, and internationally on using invention
to enhance thinking and creativity and promoted hundreds of
children’s efforts. She is currently on the New Hampshire
Governor’s – Pre-engineering Technology Advisory Council (PETAC)
working to expand educational and career opportunities for all
children. Her most recent project was co-directing the 2008 UNH
Tech Camp |

Barbara DeVore |
Barbara is
enjoying retirement after two decades as a gifted education
specialist in the Merrimack, NH, public schools. She has a M.Ed.
with a
specialty in Gifted and Talented Education from Notre Dame
College. As an NHAGE
Director, past Secretary and Vice President, Barbara initiated
participation in
the Excellence in Education Awards (EDies) and the NHAGE web
page. She served as
co-chair of the 2003 New England Conference. Barbara received
the Friend of the
Gifted Award in 2001 and the Excellence in Education Award for
Gifted Education
in 2003. |
| Secretary,
Karen Landsman |
Karen Landsman has been on the NHAGE Board as
Secretary since 2006. With a BA in Elementary Education from
Notre Dame College and her Masters of Education from Plymouth
State University, Karen taught in the classroom for eight years
before becoming the Enrichment Coordinator/Library Media
Specialist in Dunbarton for an additional eight years. There she
coordinated the Destination Imagination Program, the Young
Inventors Program, the Artist-in-Residence Program and many
shows and plays using an Integrated Arts model. Karen has
recently taken a new direction, accepting a position with the
Hooksett School District where she is the Media Technology
Integration Specialist at Underhill School. Karen believes
technology offers many opportunities for students to be
self-directed 21st century learners, and for teachers to
differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students,
including those high-potential learners who crave& nbsp;the
challenge. |

Julie Ramsey |
Julie Ramsey has been a
NHAGE Board member and its Treasurer since 2003. She has been
very involved in the planning for the 2009 NECGT as its
Co-Chairperson. Julie has been a teacher since 1980, first at
Sunapee Jr/Sr High School and now in Derry as a PACE teacher.
She teaches advanced math and enrichment classes. She received
the Friend of the Gifted Award in 2008 at the NECGT and was one
of the finalists in 2007 for NH Teacher of the Year. She holds a
Masters Degree in Education from Notre Dame College. |
Maurine Eagan |
Maurine Eagan is an educational
consultant, bringing over 20 years of experience working with
children to her private practice in Bedford, NH. She embraces a
holistic approach and specializes in supporting the emotional,
social, physical, and educational needs of gifted and creative
children. Maurine is a certified practitioner in the Annemarie
Roeper, Ed.D. Method of Qualitative Assessment for Giftedness
and holds B.S. in Speech and Hearing Sciences and M.Ed. from
Northeastern University in Boston, MA. Maurine offers
assessment, educational planning, parenting support, and
educational workshops. She teaches families relaxation methods
including therapeutic touch and imagery. |
| Director, EDies Chair, Teresa Morris |
Teresa Morris is in her third year as the Gifted and
Talented Coordinator for the Jaffrey-Rindge School District in
Jaffrey, New Hampshire. Mrs. Morris moved to New Hampshire from
Skokie, Illinois where for the past 16 years she was an
elementary teacher for the Evanston/Skokie School District in
Evanston, Illinois. In 2006, she was the recipient of the “Most
Inspiring Teacher Award,” sponsored by the Evanston Community.
Mrs. Morris holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Arts in
Teaching, earning both degrees from Wayne State University,
Detroit, Michigan. |
| Director,
Carol Foley |
Mrs. Carol Foley is the
Gifted and Talented Coordinator at the Ellis School (K-8 Public-
Fremont, NH) after having taught in formal education for 18
years. She taught for 9 years at the elementary level with
primary classes, prior to teaching science and math at the
middle school level. She holds an undergraduate degree in
BioBehavioral Sciences (a triple major of biology, anthropology
and psychology, with a math minor) and has multiple Masters
degrees in Counseling Psychology, Social Work and Environmental
Science.
Carol is on several boards: the New Hampshire Environmental
Educators board; the NH Association of Middle Level Educators
Board, the New Hampshire Young Inventors Consortium; She is the
State-wide Coordinator for Let’s Get Real Academic Competition
and also Reader’s Digest Word Power Contest, as well as River of
Words. |
