2012 Nicholas Green Award Winner Kelsey Walker
It is with great pleasure that we announce Kelsey Walker as the recipient for the 2012 Nicholas Green Award. Kelsey was nominated for her academic achievements, her musical talent and her ability to share her gifts in positive ways in her school and community. Kelsey has been a featured soloist at Chorus concerts this year. She played a major role in the Middle School musical, and auditioned successfully for the National Youth Choir, a group of 100 voices brought together to sing in Arizona. Kelsey's energy and enthusiasm have made her a positive role model in her school and her talents have enriched her community.
Linda Mandra Named 2012 Educator of the Gifted
The New Hampshire Association for Gifted Education has selected Ms. LInda Mandra as the 2012 recipient for the Gifted Educator of the Year for the State of New Hampshire. As the Enrichment Coordinator for Merrimack High School, she is recognized for her outstanding work as a teacher, coordinator and advisor of high ability children and their families. Ms. Mandra has designed a program that not only identifies and supports the needs of her students, but brings school wide enrichment opportunities that enhance the education of all. It is her work as co-advisor to the Random Acts of Kindness program, where all students' needs are recognized and honored, that she has been credited with changing the culture of her school.
